SNORKELING
AT
BAY OF PIGS

The Bay of Pigs is located on the southwestern coast of the island in an inlet of the Gulf of Cazones and belongs to the surface of the Ciénaga de Zapata in the province of Matanzas, 165 kilometers from Havana. The ideal place to enjoy snorkeling and diving without having to take a boat.
To the north of the Bay are Playa Larga and Playa Girón, scenes of the landing of Cuban forces in exile sponsored by the CIA in April 1961 to overthrow the revolutionary government of Fidel.

What will we do?

We pick you up at the door of your accommodation in the city at 06:30 and we will deliver a bottle of natural water.

Our first stop will be in a quiet Ranchón located at kilometer 80 of the Highway where we invite you to enjoy a delicious coffee.

Once in the Zapata Peninsula we will visit La casa del Colibrí, a simple country house where with a little luck hummingbirds can eat from your hand!

We continue on our way to the Bay of Pigs, a coral reef beach, turquoise waters with an abundant and colorful marine fauna to enjoy one of the best areas in the country for Snorkeling and where we will see the fish pass so close to us that they can even get to touch! In addition to being a clear place and full of lonely corners. I assure you it will be a shocking experience!

Right in front we can visit La Cueva de Los Peces, fresh water spring with very fresh water and completely surrounded by vegetation

As a culmination of this experience we will arrive at Punta Perdiz for lunch and refreshment at the beach bar with an open bar service, and then continue swimming in the crystal clear waters where, if we are able to dive up to about 7 meters deep, we can see the well-known sunken boat and a collection of Chinese ceramics.

At 17:00 we begin the return to the capital and the excursion will end at the entrance of your accommodation where we will arrive approximately 2 and a half hours later.




What will we travel on?

We will travel in the comfort of an air-conditioned classic American car leaving Havana at 07:00

Comfortable clothes and shoes, swimsuit or trusa, sunscreen, camera, additional water.
